This project developed a European standard module (including background reader, handbook and curriculum) for training judges and prosecutors in EU Member States, accession and candidate countries on the basis of the relevant EU and international standards. The purpose was to support EU Member States in preparing for effective application of new anti-trafficking legislation in line with the provisions and definitions of the UN anti-trafficking protocol (Palermo, 2000) and the EU framework decision of 19 July 2002. Furthermore, the project sought to facilitate the EU-wide harmonisation of the anti-trafficking response.
