70% of Qatari Women Economically Inactive

A social and gender survey, jointly conducted by
the State Planning Council and Supreme Council for Family Affairs
(SCFA), has revealed that 70 per cent of Qatari women are
economically inactive in the country. Of them, 20 per cent is
students.
Out of the economically active women, 50 per cent
is involved in educational services. Though the survey showed an
increasing gap between the women and men involved in economic
activities, there is a nominal increase in the presence of women in
labour market, the report said. |
