CECI's Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Approach
CECI recognizes that development initiatives have incredible potential to either reinforce or transform inequalities that exist between different groups of people. CECI is committed to the principles and ideals of equality and equity and for this reason, strives to promote more equitable relations through its project activities.
To achieve this, CECI has adopted a gender equality and social inclusion approach that seeks to mainstream a gender and inclusive perspective into the policies, procedures and practices at both the organizational and project level.
Every project designed and implemented by CECI includes a gender strategy and uses participatory methods to empower women. To enhance our capacity to reach women and socially excluded groups, CECI has more recently adopted the Rights-based approach, developed social inclusion methods, and a conflict- sensitive development approach. We have also refined our projects' monitoring systems in order to ensure the access and participation of women and socially excluded groups in all components of our projects.
Moreover, all our staff and partners are regularly taking part in gender equality and social inclusion trainings. A training kit on gender equality and social inclusion has been developed to support our partners in promoting these approaches and methodologies within their organizations and in their programs.
