Dear colleagues, 

 

We would like to inform you that the activists from Moldova are organizing different activities in the frame of 16 Days of Activism against Gender Violence Campaign.  

 

Many organizations: New Perspectives for Women (Winrock International), “Gender-Center”, Amnesty International, OWH Studio, Independent Journalist’ Center, IOM, La Strada, and other organizations created special Coalition on implementation of Campaign in Moldova. Financial support – OSCE Mission in Moldova.

 

 „Silent Witness” exhibition should be pointed out - taking place in the National Ethnographical and Natural History Museum.

 

On Friday, 2 December 2005 “Gender-Center” in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection organized a Roundtable "Domestic violence: social and legal aspects".

 

The aim of the meeting is to raise awareness and strengthen the main decision-making factors on the necessity of adoption of Draft Law on Prevention and Combating Family Violence.

Valentina Buliga, President of the Parliament Committee on Social Protection, Family and Health, Mr. Victor Mindru, Depute Ministry of Health and Social Protection, representatives of ministries, NGOs and international organizations participated at this event.

The participants adopted special recommendations addressed to the Government and the Parliament to adopt the Draft Law on Prevention and Combating Family Violence and Draft Law on Equal Opportunities for Women and Men.
