www.ured-ravnopravnost.hr | The Croatian
Government accepted the new National Policy for Promotion of Gender
Equality 2006 – 2010.
"The strategy offers a number of
measures that should contribute to the advancement of women on the job
market, prevention of violence against women and elimination of
stereotypes from school books," commented Jadranka Kosor, vice-president
of the Government after the session of the Economic-Social Council of the
Government of Croatia.
She also reminded people of the fact that
women comprise up to 60% of all unemployed people in the Republic of
Croatia and that their salaries are on average 20% lower than the salaries
of their male counterparts. |
