BHOPAL — Two Dalit women in different districts of Madhya Pradesh were assaulted, stripped and one of them even raped in the past 48 hours, police said yesterday.

While a 40-year-old Dalit woman was allegedly stripped in public and raped by three people belonging to upper cast in village Lohabasai of Morena district on Sunday, the other one was battered and stripped before her family members in Chhattarpur district on Saturday.

Enmity over old land disputes is said to be the cause behind both the incidents.

In the first incident, members of Gurjar community barged into the house of the victim Harbai, stripped and raped her, following a dispute with her over a piece of land, police said.     The police has registered a case against Tarjan Singh Gurjar, Vetal Singh Gurjar and Jagdish Gurjar while the accused are yet to be arrested.

In another incident, four people of Patel community attacked the house of Kishori Ahirwar at Rajnagar locality in Chhatarpur district and stripped her.
