Women’s Rights

Ideaccess is about making ideas accessible. So when we looked at who has the least access to information, women and girls are at the top of the list. Women all over the world face formidable barriers to information for and about them. Ideaccess strives to produce and disseminate information that is useful and relevant to women of all socio-economic and educational backgrounds. This section contains such information, as well as tools for women’s human rights defenders such as manuals and articles.

Law

When it comes down to it, the law is all we have for protection and a chance at justice. We all live within a legal framework of one kind or another, some significantly weaker than others. Knowing as much as possible about the law, including comparative law from other places and international law which might be useful, are essential tools for anyone trying to make change in their community or the world. This section is large and includes legal texts, declarations, conventions, articles, analysis, comparative law, information on constitutions, and tools.

Human Rights Theory

Quality of life and viable political systems demand the highest possible standards of human rights for all citizens. The concept of human rights as we know it today is, however, a relatively new idea. Take part in the discussion which rages on to better analyze, understand and explore ways of applying rights effectively. This section focuses on the theory side of rights of social justice.

Tools for Skills Building

This section is for taking action. This is the “how to” material, so roll up your sleeves, put on your boots and start browsing through the many manuals, guides and toolkits aimed at helping building civil societies, institutions, and solid skilled activists!

Literature for Social Justice

Justice and rights are not just for the law books and the technically-minded. Ideaccess believes that imagination fuels change and that reading is the best way to fuel imagination! Stories can pass on messages about human dignity and empowerment, inciting change and forming leaders. Browse on for some titles which we feel does just that!
