TAJIKISTAN WUNRN-MODAR CONFERENCE

“Gender Inequality in Education”

 

In honor of the national holiday,

Independence Day of the Republic of Tajikistan

 

MODAR of Tajikistan and WUNRN, the Women’s UN Report Network, will host a Conference on Gender Inequality in Education in Tajikistan, focusing on Education for Girls in Tajikistan:

 

September 13-14, 2006

 

Dushanbe, Tajikistan

 

The Conference is honored that the Ministry of Tajikistan will play a key role in the Conference program. The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Right to Education will be a featured presenter at the WUNRN-MODAR Conference.

 

Representatives of multiple sectors from throughout Tajikistan will share information and goals to consider the current status of education for girls in Tajikistan, and to explore ways to build empowerment of society of Tajikistan through gender education empowerment and social development.

 

A broad spectrum of NGO’s will participate with Government leaders, religious leadership, UN agencies, academia, and civil society. Cultural features will enhance the program.
