In all of its programs, the Global Women's Project uses the lenses of gender, race and class to analyze the effects of political, economic and social policies on women and to advocate for change. Questions pertaining to women, and economic security, poverty, violence, power, and human rights are central to this work.
The Project's ethical perspective reflects a feminist evolution of Catholic Social Thought. Currently, the Women's Project is focusing its social justice work in six general areas:
The Women's Project works to ensure that issues of women from the global and economic South are integrated into all economic policy decisions. This project has identified these issue areas as key to fostering equity and development in macroeconomic policy. In this work, equity includes not only gender equity, but also equity among peoples and nations.
