EU Gender Watch Network Established

After the seminar held in Gdansk, Poland, in June 26-27, the Network of 15 Experts from: New Member States as well as EU Neighbouring countries, Caucasus and East Asia was established.

The participants were chosen out from 35 applications received by NEWW-Poland according to following criterias:
- attached all required documents,
- knowledge of development issues,
- knowledge of economic issues,
- knowledge of gender issues,
- experience in academic/research work,
- experience in NGO work,
- experience in lobbying and advocacy,
- general impression,
- fluency in English,
- availability,
- recomendations.

They arrived from: Armenia, Georgia, Moldova,Serbia, Tajikistan, Ukraine, and NMS: Czech Rep., Slovakia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovenia.

On the Seminar the participants have the opportunity to gain the knowledge from EEPA (Maxi Ussar) and Social Watch (Cecilia Alemany) experts, about lobbying strategies and providing the research.

Now the New Member States are responsible for preparation of the future lobbying of their MPs in European Parliament as well as representatives of DGs, and assigned 6 researchers (from Georgia, Tajikistan and Ukraine) for preparing 30 pages country reports about development issues, development aid from EU and gender equality.
