Key activities

Regional Consultations The Study has conducted nine regional consultations all over the world during 2005. To learn more about the Regional Consultations, click to Regional Consultation pages.
Government Questionnaires A questionnaire was sent out to all governments early in 2004 and 123 completed questionnaires have been received by the Study so far. Learn more.
What about children and young people? The Study is involving children and young people throughout the Study so that their opinions and ideas can be included in the Study and also in other activities which can lead to better protection from violence. To learn more about the participation of children, click to the participation pages.
Public Submissions A key element of the Study has been the call for public submissions, which closed on 30 June, 2005. The information gathered greatly expanded the Study’s scope and information base. These submissions have been catalogued and will be analysed and made available in the drafting process for the final Study report.
Expert Thematic Meetings Expert-thematic meetings and consultations provide an opportunity to share expertise from all regions of the world, to discuss issues and priorities, and to identify the most effective and practical approaches for the elimination of violence against children. A number of expert consultations have been held so far for the Study.
Independent Expert Activities In order to identify country experiences of violence against children, and practical measures to prevent and respond to such violence the Independent Expert conducts field visits. The Expert also participates in academic meetings, colloquiums, workshops and seminars, and other events related to the topic of violence against children.
