Activities aim at mainstreaming gender into data collection and statistics, economic research and analysis (including population studies) and economic policies.

• Gender Statistic Data Base and assessments of gender statistic in selected countries (Azerbaijan, Serbia and Montenegro and Ukraine);

• Gender analysis of selected economic trends in the 'Economic Survey for Europe' 2003 No. 1 and 1999 No. 1;

• Exchange of good practice on gender aspects of economic policies, during the 'Regional Symposium on mainstreaming Gender into Economic Policies' Geneva, January 2004;

• Support of women's entrepreneurship.

Special attention is given to Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus, where  in many respects women's position has deteriorated during the transition process.
