GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT SECTION
 
The Gender and Development Section works to promote women’s empowerment and advancement, overcoming barriers to gender equality while reducing poverty in the UNESCAP region. In order to reduce poverty, promote development and achieve gender equality, it is necessary to increase women’s access to economic resources, education, information and communication technologies and governance, as well as to protect women’s human rights and eliminate all forms of violence against women.
