SOUTH ASIAN NETWORK FOR WIDOWS EMPOWERMENT IN DEVELOPMENT

 

SANWED SECRETARIAT LAUNCH & TRAINING WORKSHOP

 

March 21 - 24, 2006 

 

Kathmandu, Nepal

 

The Program

 

The formal launching of the SANWED (South Asian Network for Widows Empowerment in Development)  secretariat is planned for March 21 to 24, 2006, in Kathmandu, Nepal, and will be followed by a National Training Workshop for National Chapters representing Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Delegates are also being invited from Bhutan and the Maldives. Altogether 75 delegates are expected to participate in the interaction, workshop and training with Nepal having the majority of participants coming in from the five regions.
