Introducing: THE WOMEN FOUNDERS
COLLECTIVE
The Women Founders Collective
(WFC) serves as a support network to women founders, internationally,
as they create, grow and eventually let go of their not-for-profit
organizations. All women founders are welcomed at any point of
their journey, including women who have "let go" of their organization
yet still want to be part of/add to this network/support group.
The WFC also acts as a
mentor group to "wannabe" founders. Briefly stated, this organization,
through its network, will help nourish and unleash the best that's in all
of us as women and as leaders in our shared worlds.
Communication among founders
can occur over the internet as well as at regional meetings. In addition,
a book containing frank, honest reflections from founders at any point
in their journey will be compiled and submitted for
publication.
There are currently no
proposals pending or funding available for this initiative. Incorporation
as a not-for-profit organization in the State of Illinois is underway.
Our first meeting to add flesh
and substance to this initiative will be in New York City, Saturday, Feb.
25 and Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006 at the Alma Mathews House in Greenwich Village, 275
West 11th Street. Our meeting will begin at 9 AM on the 25th
and end at 5 PM on the 26th. Accommodation and meals will be
the responsibility of each participant.
Accommodation at the Alma Mathews House for the one night (Saturday)
ranges from $100 to $150. Meals will be brought in (ordered in) from
the surrounding neighborhood. A conference room is reserved for our use at
this facility. Maximum number
of participants: 25. Reservation for the one overnight stay
needs to be confirmed no later than February 17, 2006. (Overnight stay is
optional.)
Please share this letter with
friends/colleagues and encourage them to contact me directly via email if they
are interested in attending the February meeting and/or want to be added to our
listserve to receive information about our progress. Thank you.
