Guidelines for presentations and paper preparation for the Global Leadership Forum
The Global Leadership Forum seeks to encourage interactive discussions and learning opportunities. We are also anxious to maximise opportunities for people to share their views with all participants at the forum. That is why we opted not to use parallel sessions and decided to focus on plenary sessions, that is sessions with the whole group present.
In the interest of maximising these interactive opportunities, presentations must not exceed 15 minutes in length. Those participants interested in learning more about a particular presentation may do so during the question/answer period or by speaking directly to the presenter during the break. They may also read the full presentation in the paper form prepared by the presenter. Presenters are encouraged to bring several copies of their paper for distribution at the forum.
Papers to be
considered for publication in the leadership book that follows the
forum:
In order to be considered for publication, papers must conform to the following guidelines:

q
Professor Adel Safty, the founding UNESCO Leadership
Chair, founded the Global Leadership Forum to promote a multidisciplinary and
multicultural conception of leadership, when he was Head of UN Mission in Amman,
and Director of the UNU Leadership Academy in the 1990s.
q
The Global Leadership Forum emphasises an inclusive
approach to leadership in the public policy arena, the private sector,
inter-governmental and non-governmental organisations, in educational
institutions, and in citizens’ associations. It seeks to promote Value
Leadership by emphasising the interconnectedness of peace, democracy and
development, on the one hand, and the relationship between human development and
leadership in whatever field, on the other hand.
q
The GLF has been sponsored by the UN, the World Bank, the
UNESCO, several governments, private sector corporations, and educational
institutions including the university of Bahcesehir, the Centre for Creative
Leadership, Greensboro, North Carolina, USA, and the International Partnership
for Service-Learning and Leadership, New York.
q
Over the years the GLF has brought together distinguished
political leaders, senior representatives of inter-governmental organisations
such as the UN and the World Bank, distinguished scholars of public policy and
of management, corporate and business leaders, students, and representatives of
various governments from all over the world, and members of civil society
organisations.
