This conference report makes the case for the inclusion of women and gender perspectives in peace processes and offers practical recommendations, guidelines, and models to assist and encourage policymakers to include women and gender perspectives in their program designs.

Women Waging Peace and the United Nations Foundation hosted a consultation on the role of women in conflict prevention in 2005. This report consists of an overview chapter identifying trends and strategies from the presentations, followed by brief excerpts of papers composed by the conference speakers.
