In the past 4 years my co-author, Asya Al Lamky, and I have been
developing a model of Arab women entrepreneurship based on case study
research we conducted in Bahrain and Oman.  Preliminary findings have
been published in the Journal of Developmental Entrepreneurship, Vol.
10, No. 2, August 2005.  The article, "Toward an understanding of Arab
women entrepreneurs in Bahrain and Oman," lays the foundation for an
approach to business start-up for Arab women which, while similar in
many ways to those in the west, has enough variation to merit a
different model.   We are looking to extend our research to other
countries in the Gulf States Region and are seeking collaborators for this
purpose.  Please respond to me directly if you think you may be
