After
thirty years, efforts to address rapid
population growth, empower women and enhance
development are at a critical juncture.
Over the course
of several decades, remarkable accomplishments
have been made in achieving sustainable
population growth and improving the quality of
people's lives around the world. Nonetheless,
significant challenges remain and global efforts
fall far short of meeting the basic needs every
human being requires and
deserves. The UN Foundation is
working with UN Agencies, implementing partners,
NGOs, and others on a number of issues affecting
Women & Population, with a particular focus
on the following areas:
